Alfred E. Golz fellowships consists of three different categories that support research opportunities and internships for history majors and minors during the summer months: faculty-student research collaborations, student-designed projects and summer internships. These fellowships have been made possible by a generous gift from Ronald Golz ’56 in memory of his father.

Named in honor of Professor Paul Nyhus (1935-2005), the Nyhus Travel Grants are intended to facilitate primary research in either an advanced seminar, an advanced independent study, or an honors project in history. In the past, students have used these grants to travel and conduct research to various institutions across the nation and the world.

The Sherman David Spector Fellowship for Graduate Study in History and Teaching is designed to assist students and alumni interested in pursuing a career in history or teaching history. The fellowship carries a one-time $2000 stipend that Spector Fellows will receive upon matriculation in a graduate program in history or in a graduate program to train teachers of history or social studies at any level.
